ESI Expatriate plan
Claims & reimbursments :
The expatriate plan is a high level health insurance coverage for expatriates abroad.
Thanks to the ESI EXPATRIATE plan, some benefits are improved compared lots of other international plans.
Free choice of medical providers :
You have a free choice for : general practicioner, specialists, private, semi-private, public or university hospitals
Dental treatment is covered with the additional insurance.
Treatment abroad :
As your coverage is not limited to the country of residence, your insurance benefits is valid worldwide. Only USA and Canada, the coverage is limited to acute treatment (emergency)
Deductible :
Depending your contract, the deductible is 0 or Eur 400 or Eur 1600. This amount is on your charge per insurance year.

Hospital inpatient (stationnary) treatment :
In the event of an emergency or planned hospital treatment we ask you to please contact our 24-hour Emergency Service : + 41 840 001 001
Stationary hospital treatment means that you stay at minimum one night in the hospital. If you return home at the same day, please follow the outpatient treatment.
For maternity, please do not forget to contact our 24h emergency center as you know that you are pregnant. To avoid any problems by new born, we advice to apply in advance a pre natale insurance (child insurance) which takes effect at the birthday of the baby. This is to grant a full insurance coverage for example if the baby is not in good health, or premature.
Outpatient treatment :
Go to the provider, ask him to send to your address the bills or pay cash and request a receipt of payment. Pay the bills and send the originals with proof of payment and claim form (below) to Swisscare - claim service.
Procedure by the pharmacy :
Pay all medication by yourself and send us the original prescription with original payment receipt and claim form (below) to Swisscare - claim service.
Hospital outpatient (ambulatory) treatment :
Ambulatory treatment is if you go for a hospital visit and come back the same day. Show the outpatient procedure above.
How to be reimbursed fast ?
You have to pay first all your medical bills for outpatient treatment, drugs, general practitioner, specialists and hospital if it's an
outpatient treatment - in case of doubt in the hospital, ask the billing department. We pay the hospital directly only if it's a stationary (inpatient) treatment, means that you stay at the hospital for 1 night and more.

Reimbursment delay
Important : we reimburse within 30 days only if you have follow precisely the procedure.
